Samantha is not signing Tamil films anymore
Even though Samantha Ruth Prabhu has made a name for herself starring in OTV telefilms as the quintessential ‘nice girl', she now seems less keen to accept such ‘easy’ projects. During a conversation with News18, the actress explained why she is not engaging more with Tamil cinema and discussed her experience working with Raj & DK.
Samantha was more vocal that she had to be more convinced to take a project when she was asked why she wasn’t signing more Tamil films, her last being Vignesh Shivan’s 2022 film Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal. She went on to explain, “It's easy to do many films, yes. But I think I'm at the point in my life where every film must feel like it's the last. It must have that kind of effect, that kind of, and if I don't one hundred percent believe in it, I can't get myself to do it.”
Samantha, on her part, was excited while speaking about working with Raj & DK yet again for Rakht Brahmand. She stated, “I have done things, for instance The Family Man (Season 2), which I have never done before and with Citadel: Honey Bunny, I've never done that, and Rakht Brahmand. They're the ones who have spoiled me with wanting more and more of a challenge. And when I go to work every day, it's extremely fulfilling as an actor to give that much to a role. And if I don't get that feeling every day, I don't want to go to work.”
She also articulated that she has no intentions of disappointing herself or others, which is commendable.
